If you want almost every note to be in tune and have an easy articulating horn, this is a pretty good choice. All of them I've played made that little i rritating noise. I compare it to some of my preferred horns and it really is generic sounding. I argue about the sound of Yamaha saxophones in general. Repair techs here already are familiar with the adjustments on a 23. ![]() Here in the States, the 23 is probably a better buy though the price is generally high. I buy mostly 21s because I am exporting them to Guatemala. ![]() The 23 has more advanced technological features. My clients don't really understand the difference between a YAS 21 and the Yas 23. I choose something else for my personal instrument though many people I am buying horns for want a Yamaha. These are good saxophones for most players.
